6. TIVO
Filling the brain with new and often useless information usually works. If there was a beach close by, I would go there.

13. A place called "Cool Springs" that is on no map
Possibly the best motorcycle riding road in the United States is Rt. 50 as it passes through West Virginia and a in the midst of its most challenging and beautiful several miles there is a General Store tucked off the side of the road. The Store owner long ago started collecting old machinery, steam engine drive fire pumps, very old tractors, railroad cars, and stuff like that - its all out in the woods where you can wonder about it for acres. A stream runs through it where there is a large waterwheel, spinning and powering nothing. A couple of Donkeys wonder around along with a couple of domestic turkeys. There is a stream fed trough that has about a hundred albino and golden trout in it. Hundreds and hundreds of motorcycles stop there every weekend day. Its about a 30 mile ride from here, and its where I head to clear my head.

21. I don't. I'm a procrastinator of the worst order
and just usually leave the mess where it is.

Seriously, nothing compares to the beach retreat, but a long walk or a good book fits my budget and my geography any time.

26. The Emigrant Wilderness.
Edited on Wed Jun-24-09 02:02 PM by Xithras
One of the most austere, beautiful, and largely empty stretches of land in California. 175 square miles of wilderness and not a single road, dirt or otherwise. I can be there in 90 minutes if traffic cooperates.

I once camped in almost this exact spot:
