Stoned wallabies make crop circles

SYDNEY (Reuters) - The mystery of crop circles in poppy fields in Australia's southern island state of Tasmania has been solved -- stoned wallabies are eating the poppy heads and hopping around in circles.

"We have a problem with wallabies entering poppy fields, getting as high as a kite and going around in circles," the state's top lawmaker Lara Giddings told local media on Thursday.

yes it's a big problem, but it's not like agriculture has ground to a total halt and there's nothing but dust left. Basically they're in a situation of water rationing, no new cropland put into growth, etc.

BTW Tasmania is a separate island owned by Australia. Being much smaller it doesn't have deserts etc since no part of it is too far from the sea. And poppies are not what you'd call high-maintenance plants or one that need a lot of water to begin with. which is why they grow so well in Afghanistan.

So stick that in your pipe and...no wait, that would actually be a really bad idea!
