Term limits accomplish nothing... |
|
... as long as there continues to be career corporate lobbyists waiting in the wings with buckets full of cash and it takes millions of dollars to run for office.
Publicly funded elections and the elimination of corporate "personhood" are a must if true democracy by 'we the people' is to survive.

1. Term limits accomplish much. They would force out long term congress critters. |
|
Look at what a mess the House is now that we have solid control of it. Far too many of them are ineffective or hopelessly bought off by the 20 plus years they've spent in DC, being water boys and girls for monied interests.
I'd prefer that we have term limits for senators and representatives of 12 years. After that amount of time, most of them have begun to think their political career is synonymous with good government, and they're usually wrong.

from lobbying or providing access to government once they leave their seats. Make that applicable to all levels of government.
