We finally got Senator Wellstone's seat back. |
|
Six AND A HALF years since it was stolen by the BFEE (maybe).

1. I'm sure he's smiling right now |
|
and it was lost because conservatives decided that they did not approve of the way in which we mourned him.
If Coleman had had any honor he would have stepped aside as soon as Wellstone died, and allowed the seat to be filled by someone (Mondale) who would have kept Wellstone's legacy alive.

3. Ummm... wasn't it Barkley who first "inherited" Wellstone's seat? |
|
Coleman only got the seat after the Rethugs stole the next election.

12. No, Coleman stole it when Senator Wellstone was killed. |
|
Or assassinated, take your pick. Coleman was falling behind, and Wellstone died just a few weeks before the election. The Dems ran Skip Humphrey, and Coleman won.
Of course, he cheated because they counted HIS absentee ballots but threw out the absentee ballots for Wellstone.

2. Not so fast. Pawlenty has NOT signed the certificate and Franken |
|
has NOT been seated. I do not trust the RW at all. I think they still have more tricks up their sleeves on this.
A verbal concession holds zero legal weight.

Coleman's concession means that he will not be asking the SCOTUS for a stay. As the candidate, he is the one who would have to do that. He just said exactly that. Why are you spreading a layer of crap over this?
It's over. Let's cut the negativism, please, and get on with it.

5. You don't get to tell me what opinions to have and how to express them. |
|
All the rah! rah! in the world isn't going to help if the RW tries to pull a fast one. I simply do NOT trust them to ever play by the rules.

6. I didn't tell you anything. I asked. I even said please. |

You will do as you see fit. I'm in no position to tell any DUer what to do, but I'm sure as hell free to ask. Politely, too. And polite is not how I'm actually feelling right now.

7. Well, you ought to be feeling like a FOOL for believing that the RW |
|
is going to allow #60 to be seated.
The fat lady still hasn't sung.

8. Oh, please. The only one who can ask for a stay |
|
is Coleman, and he just said he's not going to. The certificate will be signed, the Senate will seat Franken as soon as they reconvene.
You're just plain wrong. And I'm done with this conversation. I'm celebrating. You're welcome to wring your hands and kvetch all you want. I won't be your audience.

10. I don't think you'll be disappointed at all in Franken. |
|
I heard him speak several times during the campaign, and had one conversation with him. He's way on our side on every issue. He will be one of the most progressive members of the Senate.
