My favorite part of the Palin resignation speech... |
|
..."It would be apathetic to just hunker down and 'go with the flow.'" In her effort to implement folksy language, she needs to learn what those phrases mean. "Hunkering down" is digging in, standing your ground and refusing to budge. It's the very opposite of "going with the flow."
Damn, she's a knucklehead...

1. She's like Bush*... regurgitates phrases and words without |

knowing the meaning or context of proper use. It was part of their lifelong respective "bluff" strategies, but only worked with people equally ignorant as themselves.

16. Palin is a garrulous semliterate hick. |
|
But "progress Alaska / the US" is a useful, understandable, and concise verbal phrase. Shouldn't be too linguistically conservative to accept a worthwhile innovation. It reminds me of Bubba's "grow the economy," which some people carped at at the time -- but it's since gained acceptance.

She uses phrases and cliches that don't belong together with zero punctuation - rambling on and on and on. It's enough to drive an intelligent person nuts.

I realized that must be how she has fashioned her public persona. And the contestants don't need to actually make sense when they speak, nor even know things like Africa is not a country. They just need to look pretty and perhaps flash a wink or two.

....the "star" of the Republican party will be a fat, bald guy who swills beer at the podium, grunts and farts at random intervals, and randomly yells out "Queers are fags who should be killed because they might molest your unborn children!".
Never has a party embraced idiocy and ignorance like this one.

18. Reminds me of this Onion bit... |
|
http://www.theonion.com/content/video/old_grizzled_third_partyIt is like she is playing a poorly written folksy stereotype. And she is not even getting the language right. She should have hired the Onion's pardoy writers. At least they can write a sentence that doesn't contradict itself. Dag dab'it!
