For Those Upset with Unrecommend:
I found a place where your complaints and suggestions may be sent:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/contact.html

There, you'll find out how to send emails to the Admins of DU. They have implemented a new feature, and don't seem inclined to change that at this time.

I suggest that addressing the issue directly with them will be more effective than multiple, repetitive OPs in the forum. DU is a busy forum, so the Admins probably don't have time to read through every thread on the subject. They'll be sure to see your email, though.

By emailing, rather than posting endless OPs, you'll also help clean up the forums so those who don't care one way or another about this feature will be able to find posts of interest more easily.

Thanks for reading.

1. Awwww... It's fun having them post things that are simply false in order to get support.

4. Are you suggesting that DUers actually do something concrete
rather than complaining and whining in thread after thread, post after post? What a novel concept.

8. By posting a thread whining about whining but telling other people to shut up.
I love these posts. :)

12. Did I do that? I thought I wrote a thread showing people
Edited on Sun Jul-12-09 02:27 PM by MineralMan
how they could contact the Admins with their concerns. I don't remember telling anyone to do anything. That's really not my style. The Contact link is way at the bottom of the forum pages, so I thought maybe people might not know about it.

So, have you contacted Skinner or EarlG with your suggestions about the feature? I think it's a really good idea.

On edit: I wasn't aware of how long you had been here, nor of how many posts you have made. Sorry. I'm sure you've emailed the admins, given your long experience here. I need to look at people's profiles more, for sure. What did they say about your suggestions?

15. Yes, you did. But, I think all of us frequent flyers have done that.

6. Did that 500+ reply thread ever get a positive recommendation
that's sad when 500 people reply and pretty much most of them don't agree with you

7. I don't believe so.
I don't suppose this one will, either. But, Don Quixote-like, I must tilt away.

14. You're not going to make the greatest page with this thread
but it's solid advice. However, it seems that in general people either support the new feature or just don't give a rat's ass about the feature in general.

17. Well, making the greatest page was never my goal.
It never is. I'm here for the discussion. Still, I think your assessment is correct.

9. Grouping together to remove a feature
they don't like, because it allows people to group together to remove posts they don't like - regardless of what others may think about the post (or the feature).

This is a juicy social experiment.

13. Hmm...solidarity is also effective in contacting people
directly. Probably more effective. I know I spend a lot of time writing to legislators, etc. If enough people do that, and have the same opinion, it's can be an important influence. Most public officials don't do too much reading on public forums, it seems.

It's sorta like going into your chamber to pray, I guess. That way, you speak directly with the guy in charge, rather than to the crowd. More effective, I understand.
