Family values?
Yesterday, Easter, my wife and I drove across our state to visit relatives. On the way home we thought we'd stop at Costco for a few things. Of course Costco was closed to allow its employees to spend the day with family. There was a Target nearby so we headed there, only to find it closed as well. However, EVERY Mal-Wart we drove by was open for business!
How's them family values. :sarcasm:

1. Funny you should mention that...
Check out this article in a recent issue of The New Yorker. I just started reading it last night & so far, it's definitely not kind ot Wal-Mart. But Wal-Mart is working behind the scenes to change their image, but not their policies. I will continue to refuse to shop there, even if it's the last damn store in the area.

2. Probably the management got time off.
That's how it works (at the expense of thousands of hourly employees). All about the bottom line. Nothing else.

3. Walgreen's was open too.
The woman working there told me that they never close, not even at Christmas. She said the employees there work it out so everyone gets to have their dinners with their families. Seems crazy to me.
