The plan should only have ONE PUBLIC OPTION PLAN that is comprehensive for all Americans.

Otherwise, we'll find out that "you weren't covered for the actual illness that you have because of clause 26c/7.84938", or some such nonsense.

HR3200 NEEDS TO HAVE ONLY ONE PUBLIC OPTION PLAN.

"P. 117

(3) PROVISION OF BENEFIT LEVELS.--The public health insurance option--

(A) shall offer basic, enhanced, and premium plans; and

(B) may offer premium-plus plans. "

THIS SHOULD BE AMENDED TO READ:

"P. 117

(3) PROVISION OF BENEFITS.--The public health insurance option--

(A) shall offer the same plan for all Americans."

This is especially important in light of our President's promise to "including a public option to increase competition and keep insurance companies honest", not MANY public options.

4. Why don't they just use Howard Dean's plan?
fuck the complications. Fuck the back(stabbing)room deals. Just do it right. Or at least do it so it "rights" itself, which I believe is exactly what Dr. Dean had in mind.

5. Not only that it will be constant oversight of the for profit
industry. They have gobs of money and unlimited ways of not providing what they say they will. It will be a constant battle with hundreds of new consumer groups forming to try to make a dent in the inevitable abuse.

A mess.

6. I suspect we may end up with no plan because no one is getting everything they want

7. Don't worry
There will be a shitty plan crafted by the insurance companies and a failure before it implemented 4 years down the road. That's a given.

People are convinced nothing more is possible so we will get a tiny bit more than nothing.
