Protesters disrupt McCaskill's office and cry foul when cops are called
This is pretty interesting. A group of protesters went to McCaskill's office in St Louis to demand that she not support 'Obamacare'. They banged on the door and rang the bell and screamed until McCaskill's staff called police. Now they are complaining that McCaskill's staff was refusing their right to protest on a public sidewalk.

Does the right to protest include the right to disrupt a place of business?

1. The right to protest does not include banging on door and screaming
These people are just idiots who were looking for a little publicity. Your 15 minutes are up.

3. I agree
I can't get over how outraged they are. This has been a huge issue on local blogs. Several of these teabaggers are saying well the people protesting the war weren't told to leave. But you know, I am one of those protesters and I don't remember ever banging on a door and making so much noise the cops had to come and run us off. We usually just stood there and held signs.

14. You are aware that the elites use the same reasoning when WE protest, right?

A week or so ago disabled Californians and people who help take care of the disabled blocked off Ahhhnold's office and did similar things. As a disabled person myself if I were in California I would have been right there with them.

2. They need to pass health care before they go home for break in August.

The teabaggers are planning to attack them when they are back in their districts. This is probably an example of what's going to happen.

4. They can yell and scream on the sidewalk all they want.
They can't bang on the door, etc. sorry. That's basic protester knowledge 101. Now if it had anti-war folks out there doing that, we would have been arrested. But these right wing idiots get treated with kid gloves. I say bust a few heads and toss 'em in jail the next time, welcome to protesting.

8. They are comparing this to Chris Koster
A private school refused to allow him to hold a press conference on their property.

Key word there: PRIVATE school. LOL

Gawd these people are stupid.

6. If you're not willing to spend the night in jail after a protest...
...You don't really care much about what you're protesting.

11. In Ohio we have to apply for a permit to stand on the sidewalk and protest.
I doubt that St. Louis is much different. We have to stay on the sidewalk but can not impeded sidewalk traffic. We are not allowed to solicit honks as it is also a violation. Cops say...don't honk for peace!

12. There were 50 'tea baggers' that did the same here at Senator Lincoln's local office. There's only a
single person manning it and the Senator is in Washington. No body was arrested, but it was a sorry lot.
