I mean Gilbert was something else in Jamaica and elsewhere, but when I saw the devastation in Cutler Ridge, Florida it finally dawned on me that we have way more serious building codes in Jamaica.

to be of any benefit to us in the western Gulf. Looks lke it is headed northwards, though. We sure could use a soaking tropical storm. Our acquifers and watersheds and lakes are dry.
