AP: Senate Finance Committee To Drop Public Option
Senate Finance Committee Dropping Dem Health Goals: AP

WASHINGTON — After weeks of secretive talks, a bipartisan group in the Senate edged closer Monday to a health care compromise that omits two key Democratic priorities but incorporates provisions to slow the explosive rise in medical costs, officials said.

1. No plan is better than this
It only seeks to cut service while doing nothing to expand coverage. Totally useless.

6. K&R...You're right: The Senate Finance psedo-"reform" is WORSE than doing nothing:

It gives the illusion of "doing something" whil;e making real reform more difficult.

2. I will readily admit that I am far from an expert on health care issues, but
this "reform" proposed by the Senate Finance Committee doesn't sound like it would "reform" all that much about about our health care system. Why even bother?

4. It is 6 senators out of 100, 3 democrats out of 60
this bill will probably die in the committee.
