Once again, Congressional Blue Dogs are standing in the way of what is good for the American people. Not only are they against single payer -- the only true healcare reform -- but now they are balking at even the the rather tepid public option being championed by Obama.

I think it is long past time to remind them just who they work for (Hint it ain't supposed to be the health insurance industry.)

All Members of the Blue Dog Coalition--

I want to make myself perfectly clear to you:

If you attempt to block a strong public option in any upcoming health insurance reform bill, or vote "no" on any bill that contains a strong public option, I will do everything within my power to make sure you are run out of office and replaced by a Democrat who remembers just exactly who they are working for.

The small business I where I work is suffering terribly in this economy and is on the verge of dropping health benefits for its employees in order to survive the next year. If that benefit goes, I am done for. I cannot afford COBRA and I have been deemed uninsurable by private health care insurance companies because I had a single episode of kidney stones many years ago. Prior to getting employer supplied health insurance, I spent years uninsured, forced to forgo even the most basic of health care maintenance and treatment because I simply could not afford it. Have any of you ever had to do that?

The Public Option Plan this administration is proposing is not perfect -- the only real chance at healthcare reform is single payer -- but would be a lifeline for people like me and the millions of other Americans who do not have access to affordable health insurance.

The American people overwhelmingly voted for President Obama and his plans to reform the health care industry. I know many of you have gotten awfully fat off of contributions from the very industry you are so very reticent to interfere with now.

You had better think long and hard about how you choose to proceed on this issue.

We will remember who votes on behalf of the American people and who chooses to protect their own self-interest.

You were on the Ed Show last night. Taking money from the insurance companies? You can't win another election if you screw the Democratic base on the public option.
