Kucinich among friends on health care

More than 200 people attended a rally Sunday afternoon to demand universal health care and to hear how their cause is faring in Washington from U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio).

Like the crowd that gave him a hero's welcome as he arrived at Aurora's Prisco Center, Kucinich supports the "single-payer" model of health insurance. This calls for the replacement of most private health insurance with a single government-run health insurance plan available to all Americans.

"Single-payer is an idea whose time has come," Kucinich said. "Polls say 60 percent of the American people want this."
