6. I'm both recommending AND unrecommending far more ... |
|
... now that there's balance between  and  in the forum. It was hardly worth hitting 'recommend' before. Virtually meaningless.

8. I wouldn't say I "love" it -- I argued vehemently against it & I'd be happy to see it go away -- but |
|
I have no qualms about using it, since it's here. And I will readily admit to deriving a certain amount of satisfaction in using it in select instances.
I still think it's evil.

10. I have...but only the ones that say, "Rec this if you ______" |
|
Anyone who actually ASKS for recs automatically gets an unrec from me.
Just because.

11. I have not unrecommended a post but would like to see the |
|
unrecommended count shown. It would give me an idea of just how many people agree or disagree with the subject being discussed.

15. I routinely unrec Palin and Pop culture threads. |
|
And try not to comment on them thereby allowing them to sink.

WTF does that mean? I'd like to know how fucking unpopular my thread is! How else can I learn to modify my behavior?

20. Hehe... I just accidentally recced this thread... |
|
when I meant to unrec it.
I do find those who are making threads angling for popularity often need to be treated as such (usually by unreccing in my book)... a thread that's honestly a thread is another case entirely... (whatever the hell that really means).

31. When the change was made, DU was flooded with posts complaining about it. |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-05-09 10:01 PM by Lisa0825
It was really annoying. IMO it is better to watch what happens after a change and see if it is effective or causes a problem, rather than bitching and moaning about what you predict will happen. Anyway, some folks may still be pissed about it, but I think the Greatest page is better for it.
For the record, I emailed Skinner ONCE about it, when I saw a unrec that was undoubtedly a troll. He undid the unrec and since I now know he can watch unrec-trolls, I think it can actually be a method for weeding them out.

24. There are VERY FEW that I'll "unrec" |
|
Usually, they're OPs that I consider "concern trolls". Not bad enough to alert, but bad enough to discourage from success (as much as the Greatest Page can be considered "success").
