Hey, GOP. Let me explain to you how monster movies work |
|
The mad scientist, in his quest for power and prestige, creates a monster. This monster then wreaks havoc and destruction. The monster is captured, then is either released or escapes. And then... (here comes the important part) the monster wreaks even more havoc and destruction. This cycle repeats until the climax, where the monster turns on its creator and the scientist is destroyed. Did you really think that the tea-baggers would stop at shutting down town halls with shouts and chants? Did you believe they would understand that they were supposed to play a role; to act like mainstream Americans, with middle of the road opinions, objections and views, who were simply panicked at the thought of further deficit spending and worried about government overreaching its grasp? Instead what you have is angry mobs shouting at their fellow citizens for daring to exercise free speech, flashing messages and symbols of hate and violence, speaking barely intelligible, ignorant, bigoted messages of paranoia, and causing congressional reps to flee for their own safety. The monster you created is loose once again. And just as before, once it starts rampaging, you can't control it. Ultimately, it will turn on its own master.

1. The craziest part of it all |
|
is that the GOP is currently split between the mad scientists that created the monsters that the brain dead mob is pissed about; and instead of chasing down the mad doc or the monster, they're raising their pitchforks at the people that are trying to rebuild the village after the latest rampage.

2. the 50s movies smeared scientists (and intelligent folk) like nobody's business ... |
|
and it's more likely to be science in the name of profits and war which is to create a monster which would wipe out the human race.

I was thinking more of the gothic Frankenstein monster movies myself. The difference being that in this version, the pitchfork and torchwielding villagers ARE the monster.

5. The monster this time may come in the form of a third party. |
|
With the benefit, of course, coming right back to us.
I hear Sarah Palin's not doing anything at the moment.
