Are the Hooters as selfdestructive as the Birthers?

The Birthers will outlive the Hooters.

The Birthers are idiots - that's all there is to it. In the face of clear evidence refuting their claim of the illegitimacy of the President's claim to natural citizenship they continue. To continue for them it to bring further public ridicule to themselves. That's idiotic.

The Hooters are different though. Their participation is dependent, to some extent, on outside financing. Someone's paying to pick them up and haul them, someone's paying to orgainize them, its likely someone is actually handing them a paycheck for disrupting public meetings. These people have masters. One presumes that the masters feel the tide of public resentment that is building against them. We are after all a nation who mouths a respect for free speech and even the most rabid right-wingers has to feel disturbed when he sees a breakdown of civility in his own back yard - and the shit is happening everywhere. It would be foolish for these people to bring further public ridicule to themselves.

So that's why I think the Birthers will continue for a while and then fade out, remember, they're idiots. But the Hooters, they will go away like a lighbulb being switched off the moment the funding dries up, they're nothing but paid actors.
