Anyone else suspicious of "Dr. Nancy" on MSNBC ? |
|
Perhaps it is just my suspicious and inquisitive nature, but had anyone heard of "Dr Nancy" before she was given this show?
It seems to me she was put on her own show, as a "doctor", to badmouth the proposed health reform. She has a lot of other segments, such as STD's in teenagers, but in the end, she always gets back around to health care reform. She is a very effective spokesperson against it because she does it so subtly.
Just another paranoid thought from kentuck.

2. She's been around for many years. |
|
She was on GMA in the '90s and she is a real doctor. She is also really, really annoying. I can't watch her show. Can't stand her.

4. She's been around forever, mostly on Good Morning America. |
|
I listen to the radio (with the TV muted) while she is on but if I happen to look up and see something of interest, I'll check it out. I haven't seen enough with the sound turned up to comment about any anti-healthcare shilling she may be doing but I do know that she's been a media player for awhile and an employee of ABC, Disney, and now General Electric. So, take that for what it's worth.

doctor to discuss everything doctor-y.... today she was on the today show answering questions about phobias. I would believe that she is out to spread the anti healthcare reform meme... since that seems to be the goal of every 'news' channel out there.

9. While the timing seems suspicious for her to get her own show, she's been a "medical personality" |
|
for years and years.
I think there is another reason, or two, though.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta has become a very prominent voice on CNN.
And Dr. Oz is going to get his own show on Oprah's new channel in the fall.
I think it's just MSNBC's lame attempt to try to wrangle in some of these viewers.

10. You are not alone. I'm not a consinstent t.v. watcher, but did |
|
listen to her a few weeks ago. Her response to a question about the health care reform bill is that the doctors have skin in the program and the insurance have skin in the program, it is time everyone put skin in the program. Very subtle, but unerlining the fact that the consumers don't have enough skin in the program. She does not get any trust from me.

11. yay, another benefit of unplugging my TV, which I did a few wks ago |

when I bought a house and moved at the end of June, I also cut the cord to Dish Network (btw, if you want cheap satellite TV, tell them you want to end it. They will offer you a $15 "Welcome Package" in a desperate attempt to keep you that actually isn't too bad--but I'd already done that and was ready to go all the way).
My blood pressure is better, but most importantly, I have so much more TIME to do other things. I've actually started reading novels again--just finishing The Blind Assassin, which I'd had for ages but never started because it was always too easy to flick on the boob tube and zone out. At some point I'll subscribe to Netflix--maybe in the winter, when things slow down--but I can honestly say I don't miss TV in the slightest, and I don't have the likes of this "doctor" infiltrating the sanctity of my home and my mind.

15. She's gotta lotta years in front of the camera. |
|
She did a lot of medical stories and was some networks "medical correspondent" for years. Not sure if it was always NBC. I bet she has 15 years in the biz. Maybe more.
