Old fashioned firemen's muster yesterday. Crazy bastids. They were great!
A dozen old time handpumpers from all over the Northeast participated yesterday in Greenwich, NY.
The old handtubs as they are known were gorgeous but I cannot imagine how hard it must have been to put out a fire with one.
Video shows how they pumped the water.
My favorites were the crew from Bath Maine who chanted drinking slogans in the parade. What a bunch of pirates!

He was the first fire chief in his town. When he died we donated it to the fire dept and they now display it in front of the firehouse

Such attention to detail. The ones yesterday were all gilded and polished and in amazing repair. And they all still work!
