Some images don't load fast enough to come through. Happens to me all the time.

17. I've only encountered a few asshole cops.

Trust me, I've encountered a shitload of them over the years in a multitude of situations and whether I was in trouble, might be in trouble, was talking my way out of a ticket, or seriously needed help, I've found the vast majority to be professional and decent people - true public servants.

I know there are exceptions, and I've run into a couple of assholes, but I just don't buy the "Hey, I want to be an asshole - I think I'll become a cop" argument.

31. As a high school teacher I have noticed a few of the really

difficult kids (as in anger-control issues) talking about how they want to be cops, clearly relishing the potential power.

Others are great kids who blush when I tease them about how they'd better not give me a ticket!

The tough kids wanting to be cops is very sobering though.

Either they realize karate isn't about learning how to kick the shit out of people just to do it, or they come to understand the truth and become excellent students and equally improved individuals. I suspect police training has a similar weeding-out process.

Just the cops that throw 88 year old women to the ground. And the ones that shoot a man dead because the cop thought his wallet or cell phone was a gun. And the ones that stick the handle of a plunger in a man's butt. And the ones that beat men in the street even when the suspect is restrained.

boundaries and guidance they need and deserve to do the job they have. i think this makes their job harder, creates anger from the civilians and drags down our community.

That's what you said yesterday about the 84-year old lady whose skull the police smashed into the ground. You spent quite a few cycles vociferously defending the police action. Why not just post a picture of that? If it was a good bust, as you say, we can probably all feel a little patriotic watching blood run from her head, since she had it coming and all. It seems like you're having technology problems with whatever cop-at-a-bake-sale picture you wanted us to see. How about just using a picture of the event you defended over and over? Have the courage of your ridiculous convictions. Here's some more neat stuff you said yesterday. Do you think we can get pictures and make a slide show?
