"Free" credit report offers/ads. Will new legislation shut these operations down? |

"Free" credit report offers/ads. Will new legislation shut these operations down or will they always find a way to deceive consumers?

people who are serious about their credit and their scores should sign up for myFICO. the costs are all up front - no "free report" BS and then having your credit card charged ad infinitum (good luck getting it shut off) - and their website is very helpful for those who are SERIOUS about checking up on their credit.

if 3 corporations are the sole arbiters of our financial reputations, and we have zero protections in place to prevent identity theft, then don't you think the least the reporting agencies could do is grant unlimited real time access to your credit report for free?

publicly acknowledge any affiliation with the free credit report dot com company. Or so it seems. The most I found googling around was a name but that's it.

That they haven't tells us something about the folks in charge of the agency.
