Should we be taking these militia videos seriously or just laugh them off as cranks?

While looking around YouTube for vids I occasionally come across videos like the ones below. There's been a large spike in gun sales since Obama was elected and these nutjobs seem to be being taken a lot more seriously by the racist teabagging birther wingnuts now they're out of power. Should we continue passing them off as cranks or are these the people we should be worried about when we talk about the violence that's possibly around the corner?

Yes, we should take them seriously. Timothy McVeigh is their martr and I honestly believe these white power groups are going to start targeting miniorites, liberals, gays and anyone else and try to kill them. These people want to kill and are looking for a reason to kill.

in various parts of the country because they don't believe the government applies to them. They are a big part of vicious prison gangs. They have killed people they don't like for no other reason than they don't like them. of a militia group "training" at the beginning of his show. The clips were eerily reminiscent of those images of Al Queda members on the monkey bars that we saw over and over and over again after 9/11. I guess that shouldn't be surprising - they have the same goal and the same value system

While I doubt any of the militias will act as a group, there are individual wackos in them who may act alone. That's the danger, and we've seen the result of that in the past.

A lot of these have more or less gone to ground and no longer have an internet presence, but are still out there. If you have any information about active militia organizations, send it to your local FBI field office. They'll be interested, but may already know about it.

The current "lone wolf" investigations are keyed to these groups, I'm sure.
