Specter protestor Katy Abram laments coming socialist toilet paper shortage

<snip>

At Sen. Arlen Spector’s (sic) (R-PA) raucous town hall yesterday, one of the “most prolonged rounds of applause” was drawn by Katy Abram, a stay-at-home mother from Lebanon, who told Specter, “We don’t want this country to turn into Russia.” On MSNBC’s Hardball today, guest-host Lawrence O’Donnell aggressively questioned Abram about her views on government, asking if she would like to see Medicare and Social Security repealed. After struggling to give a complete answer, Abram conceded, “yeah, there are programs in place, you know, the founders did not want to have here.”

On Fox News yesterday, Abram said that she was worried about a future where toilet paper was rationed, saying, “I know that years down the road, I don’t want my children coming to me and asking me, ‘Mom, why didn’t you do anything? Why do we have to wait in line for, I don’t know, toilet paper or anything?’”

----

I really hate these people. I know hate is bad for me, but Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I still hate these people.

1. I really hate them too. Made it through
eight years of Bush without using that word...I'm thoroughly fed-up.

2. They have no idea how far from socialism we are
or what it is for that matter. Many have been brainwashed: socialism = communism = Russia = enemy. Christ, even China is capitist now. I'd tell them that we are nowhere near socialism and not headed that way, but why waste my breath?

4. Lawrence O'Donnell pwned her today on Hardball. He was
Really sweet to her since she us new to this, but he was able to indicate how out of touch she is about public policy and events. He talked her into telling her parents they shouldn't accept Medicare in a few years since it is a Socialist program. She was clueless.

27. She was extremely clueless.
And Lawrence exposed for the parrot she is. She got these talking points to give and she had no real idea what the hell she was protesting. I'm sure she can go running back to Hannity's show and Sean can kiss it and make it all better for her.

28. Since Katy is a housewife
I guess her hubby should pick up the tab for her parents' healthcare. He is the only one who is getting a paycheck.

8. She's on MSNBC right now
probably a rerun. She said she doesn't know if she would fall into the category of making over $250,000. Right. You don't know how much money you make because your "husband takes care of those things."

Sheesh. Maroons.

11. She also said she's never warned her parents about Medicare,,
because "we don't talk about politics."

If you feel so passionately about a subject that you'd yell at a senator about it, you'd think you would discuss it with your family.

I think her husband takes care of a lot of things for her. Thought, for instance.

12. I don't think she forsaw
that she was going to get owned like that in the interview. She probably expected a lot of backslapping and high fives. She's not the brightest bulb on the tree.

16. You know what's the worst thing of all?
She will probably take nothing from that experience. She will not try to learn more about her - and yes, it's hers the same as anybody's - government.

She believes, and that belief matters more to her than any fancy facts.

14. Her husband must forge her signature on the tax returns.
Uh-huh. Yup. That must be it.

She's a liar.

25. If hubby takes care of the money, then it's his job to provide the toilet paper.
Stop bitchin' at Spector and share your life-without-toilet-paper outrage fears with Mr. Abrams.

10. She's getting hammered about Medicare
and if she thinks we should repeal Medicare and if she has told her parents they shouldn't use Medicare because it is socialistic. She looks like a deer in the headlights.

13. I enjoyed her ranting about her tremendous tax burden on Hardball
But when asked, claimed she didn't know how much money her husband's "small business" was making a year. Maybe she and Joe the Plumber can get some venture capital together and buy Microsoft. Well, they would have... if not for that damn Obama.

18. Maybe in the future the question her children will ask... will be:
"Hey mom if you had a crystal ball back in '09 and saw that you were going to eventually get breast cancer, and dad was going to lose his job and health coverage around the same time and we were going to lose everything as a result, would you have seriously worried about what you were going to wipe your dumb ass on?"

30. Heh, heh! We liberals have a five year plan! First, we're gonna nationalize your toothbrush,
and you'll be forced to let homeless drug-addicts come into your bathroom to use it, and you'll have to supply minty-gel toothpaste for all of them unless you want to go to jail instead. Next, we'll open an office in your county, where you can go pick up your daily square of crap-wrap, except on week-ends and most major holidays (like Rosa Luxemburg's birthday, the anniversary of Thomas Münzer's rebellion, Paris Commune remembrance day, and so on). Then we're going to make all the bathrooms unisex, where you'll have to have sex with everybody, whether you like it or not
