The Time To Start Mocking Rick Santorum Is Now

Oh, Goody. Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum is back.

Just when I was really getting used to the pleasant roll of the words “FORMER Senator Rick Santorum,” he comes lurching back into the public eye.

According to an article in Politico, Santorum is planning to go to Iowa in October to do a fundraiser for the America’s Future Fund PAC and has a full docket of other public appearances.

It is, of course, too early to talk about a Presidential run… but going to Iowa is what you do when you’re considering a Presidential run.

It’s possible that you’ve blocked Former Senator Santorum out of your thoughts, and I can’t blame you.

To refresh, he’s been an outspoken opponent of gay marriage and once said that the repeal of sodomy laws would open the door to pedophilia and “man-on-dog” sex.

He’s recently joined forces with the National Organization for Marriage to help try to keep the Defense of Marriage Act from being repealed.
Santorum has also compared same-sex marriage to incest and, though he says he doesn’t have a problem with homosexuals, he does think that “homosexual acts” are a threat to the very fabric of society.

Rick Santorum couldn't be elected dog catcher, even with his vast experience with the social habits of dogs. The last thing I want to do is discourage republicans from throwing money and support behind Rick Santorum. I see Ralph Reed as an excellent potential running mate. It's time to build up the buzz for this conservative icon, not mock him.
