Hillary is doing this on purpose
Obviously she knows the republicans are going to freak out, that's why she's doing it.

They are so predictable, they make her laugh.

"Our democracy is still evolving," the secretary of state told the crowd. "You know we've had all kinds of problems in some of our past elections as you might remember. In 2000, our presidential election came down to one state where the brother of the man running for president was the governor of the state, so we have our problems, too."

Republicans pounced on Clinton's remarks.

"Governor Bush is declining to weigh in on these ill-advised comments," a spokesman for former Florida governor Jeb Bush said. "But wishes Secretary Clinton a safe and successful trip."

5. I hope she has people who are taking care of her
She looks like she could use a good massage, good food and gentle exercise. The woman needs some pampering!

6. Her statement is a simple presentation of absolute fact.
Edited on Thu Aug-13-09 12:50 PM by Sal Minella
I don't see why Jebby or anyone else should get perturbed by a such a simple statement.

Was Jeb not governor at the time? Did the election not come down to the Florida count? What on earth can anyone object to in what she said?????

Edit: I get it -- an "ill-advised comment" is anything that isn't a lie, with these people.

9. Of course. You're right. (Senior moment, here).
Edited on Thu Aug-13-09 01:39 PM by Sal Minella
Goodness knows Gore wouldn't have had the moral fiber to deal with Gog and Magog, and muster the "Coalition," and all that...

Edit due to another senior moment. (Must be naptime.)

11. Jeb wants us to forget the mess in Florida in 2000 and Katherine Harris
And all the crap that came out aferwards that was not covered by the M$M. For instance, the use of the Florida Secretary of State's office by Republican operatives instructing Harris how to handle the recount, contrary to the advice of the Florida Attorney General's office. The destruction of state records by Harris, illegal under Florida's Government in the Sunshine Law.

If Jeb is angling for a Presidential run any time in the future, he wants all that to fade away forever and not have someone savvy like Hillary remind the world on a regular basis.

Go Hillary! Keep poking those sticks!

16. The concept of Jeb trying to run for President is so repugnant that
it never enters my thinking, and I bet you're right --

What other reason would Jebby have for being outraged at a simple statement of fact.

Any mention of Harris or the Gucci Goons brings up facts he wants buried in the dim and distant mists of time. ugh....

19. I had to deal with him living in the same county for eight years
Believe me, I have nightmares about the President Jeb. But I have my files, incomplete as they are, of the stuff that happened in 2000 and since. I'll be ready to pull out stuff, facts and allegations. (Like the rumor about Jeb & Harris's affair. Completely unsubstantiated, but who will care a few years from now.)

23. Without reading anything about Jebby and Cruella having an affair,
I concluded they did just from looking at photos in which they both appeared -- Jeb usually looks like he'd like to be Anywhere But Here.

Wonder what Columba thought.

I just realized that is why Sanford's wife moving out of the Gov's Mansion seemed to be a repeat!

8. Never ever forget. Corporate tv told us in 2000 that it was going to be Florida.
In 2004 they told us it was going to be Ohio.

They had Jeb and Katherine ready to go in Florida.

They had Kenneth Blackwell ready to go in Ohio.

Corporate ceo's knew the game plan way ahead of time.

Pre-polling data screwed them up in Florida and they took care of that little problem on Ohio. After years of pre polling data, they declared that the company they ran was no good and were ignoring it.

Never forget.

Good for Hillary Clinton.

Better get that plane checked out, Hillary. I don't like it when Bush Crime Family members talk like that. Just ask the guy who fixed the machines for them in Ohio 2004. Or Paul Wellstone. Or Mel Carnahan. Or Salem BinLaden (big brother of you know who). :scared:

14. That was an odd transition in the story.
They suddenly jump to a semi-no-comment from a former Florida governor? Is ABC setting up a presidential run by Jeb?

I can't think of a good reason for them to do that.

Happy karma to them.

I can't imagine they stay together for anything besides PR, if I was her I would have started detesting him after the first few times he cheated, not even counting Monica L.
