The republicans need to be punished for their nonsense
I hope that when this horrid month is over, Obama calls all the dems to the WH and TELLS them to strip out ALL the stupid shit they allowed republicans to put into the mix, and just ram it through..WITH a public option..

THEN he should go on tv and in a professorial tone, just tell us all that since the republicans could not get past the nonsense and trying to scare people to act against their own best interests, this is the way it;s gonna be.

he should also remind us all that MEDICARE was never called ELDERcare, because it was always intended to be for ALL of us, and that any older person who is not in favor of all of us getting health care, should tear up their medicare cards, cancel their participation, and start refusing their social security checks.

He needs to remind us all that we are a SOCIETY..not just random tribes of conflicted people, like Shia & sunni & kurd, all ready to fight each other over any perceived slight.

1. I'm not convinced that your scenario represents Obama's wishes
Let alone what he'll actually be able to do.

3. Then by all means, let's just let the Republicans call all the shots.
What have we got to lose, right?

5. this is how they roll.. they are in power for AGES, do NOTHING
Edited on Thu Aug-13-09 04:15 PM by SoCalDem
and when dems take over, they INSIST on putting stuff into the bills, and then vote against them anyway..

we lose out because the bills are watered down and toothless, and they "win" because they can appear to have participated, but in the end, "stuck to their principles" ..bastards..all of 'em

7. Move to strike as non-responsive
I'm not LETTING the pukes do anything.

Rather, the people I voted for -- the ones with the actual power to do something about it -- keep rolling over for the bad guys.

4. They were punished, during the election.
The Dems we voted in refuse to carry out the sentence.

10. Nancy and Harry deserve credit too.
Someone please remind me why we elected this bunch?

Seriously, they've (read: Obama) done a lot in the past nine months, but dayum, we've got a roadmap and records of every horrible thing done during BushCo* II, so it can't be THAT hard to track down and undo everything he did while in office. It's ALL bad, so how can you go wrong in undoing it? Bill Clinton, even during the "investigation", got a buttload of crap passed by embarrassing the (majority) Republicans publicly. Is the DLC really so far up your asses you can't move without permission?

Seriously Nancy/Harry, if you're just too damn old and tired for the job, groom a successor already. When we voted for change, we weren't thinking about your Depends. Get on it, bitches.
