Updated: Even more advertisers pull support for Glenn Beck-ConAgra, Roche, Sanofi-Aventis and RadioS

**UPDATE: On Thursday, ConAgra, Roche, Sanofi-Aventis and RadioShack all backed out of sponsoring Glenn Beck's programs, according to a media advisory.

http://rawstory.com/blog/2009/08/more-advertisers-pull-support-for-glenn-beck/

OAKLAND, Calif.—ColorOfChange.org this week received confirmation from four more companies – ConAgra (maker of Healthy Choice products), Roche, Sanofi-Aventis, and RadioShack – pledging to pull their ads from Fox News Channel’s Glenn Beck show. These new defections come on the heels of reports that Men’s Wearhouse, State Farm and Sargento also pulled their ads in recent days. They join LexisNexis-owned Lawyers.com, Procter & Gamble, Progressive Insurance, SC Johnson and GEICO, who all pulled their ads from Glenn Beck after the news host called President Obama a “racist” who “has a deep-seated hatred for white people,” on “Fox and Friends.”

“…Upon review of this particular program, we have discontinued our advertising for all ConAgra Foods products during its airing,” said Stephanie Childs, spokesperson for ConAgra Foods, in an email to ColorOfChange.org. “We share your commitment to diversity in all areas of life and appreciate you sharing your concerns with us.”

“We have specified that our ads will no longer run on Mr. Beck's show,” said Sean Connor, Manager of Media Services and Purchasing for Sanofi-Aventis, in an e-mail to ColorOfChange.org. “We have included this show on a list of programming that should not be utilized within the Fox network buys. Thank you for drawing our attention to this matter.”

“This confirms that there is no advertising we (RadioShack) buying on the Glen Beck Show or anywhere on the Fox News Channel,” said Dave Hamlin, Director of Media Services for RadioShack, in an email to ColorOfChange.org. “What viewers are seeing on FNC and Glen Beck is manufacturer advertising that has tagged their messages with "RadioShack" as the retail destination to purchase their product(s). In this most recent instance, it is most likely the product called magicJack that has tagged our name throughout their commercial.”

Be great if they could get every advertiser to pull out.

4. Has the media got any plans to interview
any of these people who have pulled their ads? I know they've been busy giving airtime to the Glenn Beck nutcases and now claiming that they are 'having an effect'. Same thing happened with the SBV.

But seeing so many, and hopefully more will follow, pull their ads from that show seems to say that there are far more of us than there are of them.

Interviews with spokespeople for those companies would be an excellent way to inform the public of just how bad and insane this jerk is who, the media says, is 'beginning to have an effect'.

The whole network, Fox, and any other media outlet owned by Rudolph Murdoch, should be boycotted. Since Fox arrived on the scene, the US media has sunk to such a low level that there is literally no real news anymore. And that presents a real threat to any democracy.

6. I think Beck will say more unacceptable stuff and all the advertisers will dump his show. His hubris
will catch up with him.

17. Agree on ConAgra
If they are stopping advertisers are definitely nervous about being associated with his vile.

Now let's see if WSJ pulls out!

8. That's a full dozen big advertisers.
Say what you will, but that's gonna affect sales numbers and finance figures for FOX News, and when the money is fucked with, action is taken in a hurry.

I'm beginning to think that Glenn Beck's about to lose his show!

18. This is good for one very good reason
And that is these people will continue their ways, continue to push the envelope until a stronger force makes them stop. Glenn Beck is hopefully learning this, just like Imus did that time.
