saying that "his committee" had DROPPED the end of life counselling language "because of the way it could be misinterpreted".

Now, I would agree that this provision alone is not a biggie. I thought it was a thoughtful and helpful way to assist the elderly with decisions which, for some, could be overwhelming. But, losing this one provision doesn't mortally wound the bill.

What it DOES do, is sprinkle a little blood in the water. The people who are really in charge of the opposition---not the teabaggers we see in the videos and on TV---know damn well that this was a totally bogus issue. They stacked lie upon lie upon lie and---the Democrats folded! And, of course, the screamers and spitters will see this as PROOF that the Democrats did too want to kill grandma, but the brave teabaggers saved her.

"Bipartisanship"---well, isn't that special?
