Katy Abram has been tagged as a plant at Specter's town hall
Edited on Thu Aug-13-09 10:59 PM by shraby
over at DailyKos.
Katy Abram of Arlen Spector Town Hall fame was interviewed by Lawrence O'Donnell last night and claimed that this health care initiative woke her up to politics. In fact, she helped to organize the protest before the Spector event and has been hosting Glenn Beckian 9-12 meetings at her home. She joined Meet-Up in December, 2006, with an interest in Conservative and Glenn Beck groups, though since last night she's scrubbed info about her interests from her profile. Here's an invitation to her 9-12 meeting:

http://lebanonpa912project.ning.com/...

At 11:52am on May 7, 2009, Katy said…
Hi Sandra,

Welcome to the Lebanon 9-12 Project! Please take a moment and check out the website. We have had one meeting so far and are having a second one this Saturday at my home in Creekside (North Cornwall Township.) If you are interested in attending please go to the Events section and RSVP. I look forward to meeting you.

Katy Abram

Where on the scale of intelligent plantlife do geraniums fall? I mean, are they plant border collies? Or plant afghans?

She is the one that brought this info to light:

I am going to assume that the Kossack, "stef", is the same person, unless told otherwise.

30. same here, of course. hope it gets some TV play. however, she's
already a 'folk' hero to the mouth breathers, and once one of them enters the realm of fantasy, no amount of logic/reason/factual accuracy will come between those cretins and their world of make believe

just think no farther than 'birthers' for confirmation

or 'deathers'

one publicity stunt after the other, that's all it takes

''Lookee! Another shiny object! Must chase!''

31. Let em' have their heros
The more they pump her up, the better chance she'll appear before an interviewer that won't treat her like a piece of china. Put her in front of Tamron Hall and see how well the little princess act holds up.

32. I don't think she'll be coming out of her wingnut cocoon for whatever shelf life her
celebrity affords her. as her star fades, the next palin/joe the P will pop up, most likely in the form of some other shouting townholler creep. it's how they promote things, and with Fox panting behind the scenes for its next superstar, you can be sure that someone is waiting in the wings (probably as yet undiscovered)

I'll be very surprised to see/hear her anywhere else, unless she can get some sort of agreement to keep the interviewer from bringing up her 9/12-Glenn Beck associations.

she's already become a member of the freeper firmament, and, as I said, nothing anyone can ever say or do will change the impression the squid patrol has formed

35. Hard to say
Granted, she'll get better treatment from the Hannity's and Becks of this world but MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell wasn't as firm with her as he could have been. Mind you, O'Donnell questioned her brilliantly. He gave her free reign to tell lies, which are being exposed because of DUers like Stephanie. Just the same, by the time O'Donnell was done, she was purring like a kitten. She thinks she pulled the wool over the "liberal media's" eyes.

I am hoping she continues to feel safe, just like Sarah Palin thought she was safe with Katie Couric. Ms. Abram pulled a lot of girly tricks that won't work with objective female reporters and anchors. I'm simply wishing for one five-minute segment with one of those objective female anchors.

:)

39. LOL. That would be sweet!
However, I kind of think old Katy will steer clear of Ms. Maddow.

Actually, I have hopes for a lil' confrontation with Contessa. Now that's she's evolved past her awkward stage, Ms. Brewer is turning out to be rather fearless.

My dream would be to see Katy Abram interviewed by Tamron Hall.

11. I don't think she was a plant.
I saw her on Hardball. I also saw a clip of her speaking with Hannity thanks to the Daily Show.

She appears to be genuine to me. That being said, if it is somehow proven (I mean seriously proven that she was planted there by some outside group to specifically ask her question), and then it is proven that everything she said afterward is a lie...

...then give that woman an Oscar and send her to Hollywood. She's a damn good actress.

20. She is a good actress
I especially loved her portrayal as the clueless spouse unit, unable to comprehend her family's finances. The subtext of "I'm just a silly girl!" was quiteconvincing.

Seriously, you don't know women like this? Women who play the delicate flower when it suits their purpose? I know plenty of them and to steal a quote from Mad-Eye Moody:

"Ms. Abram is as much a fairy princess as I am."

bullshit in her answers and non-answers. Obviously, her GOP handlers didn't spend enough time with her in Astroturf class. Katy is just another "backwards B" tool for the GOP.

She could have joined Meetup in 2006 and added those interests more recently, unless there is contrary evidence.
