Whew! Southwest Airlines out of the running in the Frontier Airlines sale
I don't know much about Republic Airways but the thought of those "cattle call" Southwest seat assignments on more flights out of Denver had me worried. My clients usually book my tickets on price and I hate flying Southwest. Plus Republic has said that they won't change Frontier which is/was a decent airline. Southwest was just going to assimilate them.

Good for the Pilot's Union!

1. Isn't Southwest the Walmart of the Airline industry?

3. Not really, but then again I won't fly them if I can help it.
They have been really serious about their model of competing with bus lines or driving yourself. They locked in their fuel rate so when things really went up, they were OK. They minimize service including gate passes. However you know all that when you sign up to fly with them. Overall satisfaction ratings is comparable with the majors.

2. Republic is a better bidder and probably will keep the Frontier liveries.
and it's our hope that Denver jobs will remain intact (even if it has to lay off a few).. but Republic Airlines has been around a LONG time, and they are based out of Indianapolis, so I think we'll be fine.

I haven't flown Southwest, but I understand the "cattle call" is the messiest part of the experience. I might try SW to LA next year...

5. Southwest Airlines Is Really The Best Of The Bunch......
They run an efficient airline. They are very customer service oriented. Their personnel are always very friendly and helpful. They don't charge for extra bags. They take off and land on-time. I can't say anything bad about them. If you haven't traveled on Southwest for awhile you should give them a try again. They've changed. I used to fly United and then American Airlines. Now I travel Southwest almost exclusively. I think they're the best of the bunch.
