Trolling 101... a free lesson for our Freeper friends on how to do it better

Here's an example of a post by a troll in another thread:

Stewart ought to stick to telling jokes and making faces.

He doesn't do well when he strays into the land of serious. His facts are always screwed up and he tends to rely on looking to his studio audience for laugh/clap support. Since they for the most part impressionable youngish student types, they don't carry much weight in the real world.

The thing is, we get creamed when we're shown to be obvious liars and idiots. The expreme left side of our party is exerting far too much influence now and I fear they will create the biggest backlash this party had ever seen. Obama was a crappy inexperienced Maoist choice. He's gonna get us creamed. He's far too easy a target when the star-shine wears thin, which it easily does.

Let's take it apart, bit by bit, to point out the Freeper errors:

1. "Stewart ought to stick to telling jokes and making faces."

- Taking a direct quote uttered by Joe Scarborough and making it your subject is a no-no. A better subject would have been "I like Jon, but I think he got this one wrong." A little less obvious.

2. "His (Stewart's) facts are always screwed up."

- The accuracy of the facts on the Daily Show is amazingly good, considering the show is designed as a sarcastic and humorous take on the day's events. Also... a typical freeper tactic is to make a statement like yours without backing it up with a single example.

3. "Since they (his audience) are for the most part impressionable youngish student types, they don't carry much weight in the real world."

- Actually, the reason the 18-49 set is the target demographic for just about all advertising is that they carry much MORE weight in the "real world" than you freeper-type old fogies. This is why Glenn Beck has lost 8 sponsors in the past week.

4. "The thing is, we get creamed when we're shown to be obvious liars and idiots."

- Count the troll errors in this sentence:

1. Using "we" when the first paragraph clearly outed the poster as not being one of "us".
2. Using "we're" when... see #1
3. "obvious liars and idiots". Not a single example of a lie was presented in the troll's post.

5. "The expreme left side of our party..."

- Freeper trolls ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS have spelling/grammar issues. It comes from having a low IQ. A simple spellcheck would've helped you here, troll. Secondly, you used the "our" word... which we already established is a no-no given your first paragraph.

6. "(the left) is exerting far too much influence now and I fear they will create the biggest backlash this party had ever seen."

- Considering that the "left" hasn't been able to influence Obama much at all exposes you even more. And the only hope you freeper types have is a "backlash", because even though Obama's poll numbers have dipped slightly, the GOP's numbers have not gone up at all. You represent a tired, old governing philosophy that the American people have rejected out-of-hand. Even though your attacks on Obama have dipped his popularity, it has failed to increase your own.

You're a zombie party. Dead men walking.

7. "Obama was a crappy inexperienced Maoist choice."

- Nobody to the left of G. Gordon Liddy (99% of the population) would consider Obama to be "Maoist". Also.. "inexperienced" is an interesting criticism coming from someone who likely masturbates to pictures of Sarah Palin every night.

8. "He's gonna get us creamed."

- There you go again, using the "us" term. You've already clearly established yourself as not being "one of us".

9. "He's far too easy a target when the star-shine wears thin, which it easily does."

- Using the term "target" when referring to Obama is a dead give away of a freeper. We know that you dream every night that someone more courageous than you actually DOES make Obama a "target"... while you sit in your basement hating "what America has become" since old white farts like yourself no longer run things.

Please... freeper trolls... in the future, make it more of a challenge. Outing you guys is much too easy. You're not as good at this as you think you are. You need training.

Don't be a Katy Abram or Joe the Plumber. Know what you are doing before you try to enter into discourse about the day's events.

The average IQ at DU is much higher than at the sites you frequent. You have to work harder. We'd like a little tougher challenge.
