The Grand Campaign of Lies

There's an unease in the jungle. The wild animals are screaming and chattering. They feel the earth rumbling under them. Something very dramatic is about to happen.

In the political jungle, the wild animals are screaming also. They feed off each other. One screams a lie and it is magnified many times thru the media and talk radio circuits. Barack Obama is a Nazi, a socialist, who is out to kill old folks if they get sick. He wants to take over the private health care system and make it a government-run program. He's going to pull the plug on Grandma. And so forth and so forth...

There is no referee in this melee. The lies take on a life of their own. They grow into something monstrous and dangerous. But it is all legitimate because it is "just politics". Now we understand more clearly what the ancient Chinese meant when they said, "May you live in interesting times".

There is only one way to counter this campaign of lies. We must expose them to the truth. We cannot let them escape the label of "liar". The truth must stand firm, even as the earth rumbles under our feet.
