Two irrevocable turning points...
When Obama (was it during his inaugural, or just five minutes later?) announced that single-payer was not an option--any hope for real REFORM died.

When Reid announced that there would be no vote before the August recess--any hope for even a minor step forward DIED.

health care? we lost. move on.

3. Your first sentence is a blatant lie
Obama, throughout the ENTIRE campaign, said that single-payer wasn't part of his plan.

Your first sentence is an attempt to paint him as flip-flopping on the issue. He did not.

During his ENTIRE time as senator, and during the ENTIRE 18-month Presidential campaign, Obama clearly indicated that single-payer was not going to be part of his plan.

If you went into the voting booth thinking that Obama was for a single-payer system, then you ignored his campaign platform and the many times he outlined his healthcare proposals.

Don't get pissed because you failed to pay attention.

5. I'd put the turning point at his meeting after the 2004 DNC speech.

6. Jeeze. Get over yourself. This isn't idiot son, and nothing has been
determined yet.

But let's panic.

I love your resolve. Or would, if I'd ever seen it.

8. As has been pointed out...
...Obama's position was clearly stated on his campaign website. I knew that he wasn't for single-payer long before I even voted for him. So I'm not surprised in the least.

I am a bit surprised on his weakness in dealing with the issue, though.

10. I never said he changed his strong commitment to the insurance corporations.
He's clearly been a corporatist first and foremost for his entire national career. But when he said it *as President*, any hope for real reform was clearly dead.
