No surprise, but hearing it said is really sad.

I think I shall go into denial and tell myself it's because he's too sick from his treatments to attend, not the illness.

This must be terribly hard on Jean Kennedy Smith as well as the rest of the family.

2. I taught the son of his first wife's sister

At a private school here in Houston. I also lived in the home of a Harvard classmate of Joseph P. Kennedy - in Virgina Beach. And, I shook hands with JFK on two occasions. Those are my Kennedy degrees of separation. Fine folks, brave patriots who arouse
envy in too many of their lessers.
