The unrec button is too close to the rec button!
It's my only criticism of the unrec feature. Twice I've unrec'd a post I meant to rec and I've nearly done it several other times.

4. I'm Also Beginning To Think There Are Some Freeper Lurkers On DU......
that are unrec good threads just to stifle the discussion. Can't prove it - but I've seen some strange behavior on threads that provoke good discussion and get some rec - only to go back to '0' when it looks like it could be to pointed at RW behavior.

21. How does rec or unrec status stifle discussion? If it is really a good
topic, it will have many views, many responses, and stay on the front page for a long time regardless of rec/unrec

6. It doesn't seem too close to me. The number of recommendations
comes between the two words. I don't really see how you could make the mistake if you're actually looking at your mouse pointer when you click. Seems a non-issue to me. Of course, I rarely click either one, so...

9. It's easy to see but on some but the mousepad on my laptop is very touchy.
It'll move the cursor really quick to where I don't want it to be. It would be okay if there were a way to undo your rec or unrec or if it prompted you but there's not.

10. If you're using your laptop in a fixed location, why not plug in
a mouse? I hate touch pads and those eraser-head pointing devices. There's a USB mouse in my laptop bag at all times, along with a small mousepad. Anytime I'm sitting still at a desk or table, it's plugged in.

It's worth checking into and would save you lots of headaches, I'll bet. Cost? Less than $15.

22. Also, "recommend" is at the "lesser than" end of the carot.
For those of us who are visual, that's a contradiction and I've made the mistake twice now.

I'd put "un-recommend" on the left at the small end of the carot and "recommend" at the right.

23. Lesson of the story: don't use the "U"
If you don't like a story, ignore it and move on or post a comment.

I spend some time whenever I am logged in to go in search of the "less than 0" to recommend them but often my one R is not enough as it is with this one.

Perhaps you should stop use the U.

I have seen, especially earlier today, decent, non controversial topics, not about the R/U which got a "U" almost as soon as they were posted. Sadly, it appeared that one DUer is being the target and using it is bypassing DU rules about "going after" other DUers. Or, some DUers just need a shot of self esteem and they get it with the anonymous U.
