Can this be interpreted as "assassinate Obama" message?
Pardon if this was posted before, but I just saw it on www.oliverwillis.com

CafePress is selling shirts that seem to suggest a desire to assassinate President Obama? I looked around on CafePress, but couldn't find a way to complain about that particular seller (who doesn't identify himself/herself.)

3. Shhh
Next time wait for the mob to gather on the thread and pour forth the froth before pointing that out! This thread could have had, like, 1000x the entertainment value.

4. Who the fuck is 'we' ?
It is ridiculous to lump everyone together in such a statement ...

'We' did no such thing ...

20. Yes .... We as in 'DU' always behave as if we were one single being ...
We agree on everything, and feel exactly the same about every point of every subject ...

That is why you can speak for me, always ....

Tell 'them' I said hi ....

23. Expecting some precision in statements is rare, I know ....
But dont include 'me' when you issue sweeping generalizations from 'us' about one subject or another ...

I and most DUers did NOT do as you claimed 'we' did ....

14. No, it doesn't. 86 means "remove," usually in the context of ejecting from a bar.

ie 86 baked potato = we're out of bakers. Or ordered items.... baked potato 86 sour cream...means guest does not want sour cream on their baked potato.

18. It's a slang expression,with many definitions,many often used to mean kill.
I don't think they mean throw Obama out of a bar.

31. Here's the quote from the Designer:
Let the world know how you feel about the 44th President of the USA with this great shirt. Tell them it's time to 86 (throw out) the man who seems hell-bent on wrecking our country.

(emphasis mine)

heard of it in the context of murdering someone.

7. I used to work in the restaurant business
It was commonly used to identify items we were out of, or did not want to sell or whatever, as in "86 chicken salad." It definitely means get rid of, they are clueless at wikipedia, but it is vague enough to easily mean impeach, vote out or whatever, though it could be code for assassination. Hard to prove that intent

11. I think your're mistaking "86" with "187".
"86" has a history of meaning "kick out" or, in this case, impeach.

"187" is a commonly used police code number for "murder".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/187_(murder)

I'd be very upset to see that number with "44" anywhere.

17. it's from the address of a speak-easy-

according to :
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=86

My Dad used to say "deep 6" that meaning to get rid of something. I also remember him saying "86" that to mean the same.

I don't see it as a blaitent "threat" myself.

"NO"Bama bothers me more actually, and always has- just because of the way I 'take' the phrase.

:hi:
