new trend for cable news...bring the wingnuts into the studio and give them a forum
i haven't seen ONE pro-healthcare person from the townhalls interviewed in the studio by any of the pundits

why give the wingnuts a forum and exclude those who are pro?

as President Obama said 'teevee loves a ruckus'

:smoke: :grr:

1. From what I've seen
giving the wingnuts a forum does their side more harm than good.

2. Then why is support for reform plummeting?
You people who insist that propaganda is useless need to gets your heads out of the sand.

4. I Agree With You
It works, however, I think Obama's Montanna townhall did WONDERS for the debate and perception of the plan.

At least I think so, well...at least I HOPE so. Yes...I still have HOPE.

13. You said that giving the wingers a forum foes them more harm than good
they've had unfettered media access - i.e. a forum - for 2-3 straight months, and it is very clearly doing them more good than harm.

Please don't backpedal on your original statement, and then claim I put words in your mouth.

11. I think
It's support for "THE WAY" the president is handling things. A lot of people are just not happy that he is still trying to get support from the republicans, and want him to get tougher and tell the republican that if they don't want to help solve the problem, then the democrats will do it on their own! They are frustrated and are when polled are voicing that frustration. That makes the numbers go down, but I still believe the majority of americans "WANT" reform, and they want a public option. If president Obama stood up to the republicans and said we are going to do this no matter what, and then laid the law down to congress and tells them he wants a public option no matter what, his numbers would go way up!

12. This is theoretically the right thing to do
Unfortunately, the low-life traitors like Reid and Baucus have decided to abandon Obama and the American people and side with Limpballs. So the president can say, as you suggest, "we are going to do this no matter what", but the "we" consists of about 20 Senators and 100-odd House members, not nearly enough to overcome the fascist forces at work.

6. i'd agree if it were balanced, but it's not.
when they bring these crazies into the studio, they are the made up by the make up artist and presented as 'normal citizens' which they are not.

anyone who goes to these town meetings and screams and yells is unhinged imho

it would be fair if the pro healthcare folks were getting the same exposure

8. Maybe I haven't seen all of their appearances
but in the appearances I've seen they ended up looking like clueless idiots. Make up doesn't change that and really has nothing to do with anything.

I agree that they are unhinged and I certainly never implied otherwise.

Geeze, what is going on here? I simply point out that these people make their own side look bad and I get attacked by DUers for it. WTF?

10. I apologize.
You're right, you didn't attack me and I shouldn't have directed that at you. I was more upset at Doctor_J's response to another of my posts and you got caught in the fallout. You and I agree. :hi:

3. A very aggressive media purge will be a prerequisite for getting the country back
Nothing of consequence will happen until after that.

7. Bring em on...
it's not doing the Republicans any favors.
They've firmly positioned themselves in a box of crazy that they may never recover from.

As dopey as the Whole Foods CEO speaking out against everything his best customers believe in.
Does it take a special sort of stupid to be as clueless and tonedeaf as so many republican seem to be ???
