I wonder... if the "mis-speek" was to get HIS base riled enough to do something... |
|
All the shouting we have been doing since this happened...
I do wonder if the president did it to show congress what they are facing, collectively, really as opposed to the asstroturfers, if they FAIL to include a public options or even (dare I hope?) a single-payer health care system?
I hear stephanie miller speak about how the president is playing chess while we are playing checkers...
This is just a thought I had, and it does make me wonder a bit if it was on purpose, to do this, to make US shout even LOUDER than the asstroturfers...
If so I may have to take back everything I have said about him. Our party is still filled with spineless wonders *choughREIDcough*
It does make me wonder what he'd do when he was organizing his community to get them working...
just a thought.

2. I hope the Pres. is being so much smarter than all of us. I hope that at the end, I owe him (and |
|
some here) a huge apology. If not, then he has simply sold us a bill of goods and there was only "hope for change" and never a real goal of achieving it.

3. Didn't Rahm just ask the base to stop pushing Blue Dogs?? Doubt he did that... |
|
...without the President's okay.

4. No it is because our spokespeople are unprepared and are uncoordinated |
|
They think they can just go on tv and randomly pontificate. They don't have talking points, or if they do, they didn't read them. They routinely don't bother to understand what the other side's talking points are, and thus are routinely ambushed and unprepared for the questions they are asked. No prep. I think in general our side knows we are smarter than their side, and generally that is true, but as a consequence we don't take these media events seriously and fuck up routinely.

5. Rubbish. Conservatives aren't that smart. |
|
They're all engaging in verbal wishful thinking, that their health care stocks will do well and the gravy train of bundled campaign contributions will continue to pull into the station on schedule. They don't want anything to change and are simply voicing their faith that it won't.
They'd better be proven wrong or they'll be in the minority party in 2011.

6. Nope. We're just being manipulated so that we eventually thank them for crumbs. |
|
It's called "hardnosed negotiations", but what many don't realize is that it's the American people, not the Republicans, who are being sold a bill of goods.

I didn't think my topic was that horrible. It's rare you hear such hope from me. *shrugs* oh well, cest' la vie
I admit, the point being put out there... Congress isn't in session. Until it is, we should be sure to demand universal/public health care... remember the public option IS the compromise.

10. Believe me I hope Im right too |
|
None of this affects me directly. I'm in Europe, and my family's medical care is guaranteed but I have friends who do not have such luxuries as being retired, government workers, union, or in the coast guard.
and I worry for them... and myself. My returning home is dependent on medical care being plausible.
and thanks for the KnR :)

11. I have spent some time hoping that is the case |
|
But I truly do not know. It is rare for me to not be able to read the tea leaves in any political fight but this has me thoroughly confused.
