Sgt. James Crowley, got a four minute standing ovation from FOP |
|
Fraternal Order of Police with an audience of over three thousand police officers gave Crowley a four minute standing ovation when he spoke to them Friday. Wonder what he said that was so inspiring?

The name's ringing a bell but that might just be because it was my mom's maiden name.

5. He is the police officer that arrested Gates at his home |
|
I guess most police officers believe that was a wise course of action. I happen to disagree but then again who am I to make any such decisions.

3. The police unions should be broken up. |
|
It seems that whenever a cop who acts wrongfully actually looses his job, the damn union sues to get it back and usually does. I am not against all unions though, especially in the private sector.

6. So some unions are good and others are bad? |
|
Sounds like the problem more directly lies with the court system and not with ____________(insert union you don't like here).
Really? Who gets to make that determination?

9. Wait...I thought the FOP was not the "police union" really, but a voluntary more like a |

fraternity?
I could be totally wrong about that.

7. It was a bad bust . . . ? |
|
Didn't the perp walk? Weren't the charges against the arrestee dropped completely? Cops like that sort of thing so much, they'll give a standing ovation to the fuck-up? This is very confusing.

8. The police, as a collective, are notoriously right wing... |
|
and also they are like a fraternity or a brotherhood, or an good 'ol boys club. They will support and defend their own, right or wrong. Ask Serpico (okay, I kid).

Someone needs to invite them in for a beer and ask them. ;-)
