If this happens, I will eat your sox and my own |

The House passes a bill with single payer or a public option.
The Senate passes a bill with shit.
They go to reconciliation. The final bill has either single payer (my hope) or a strong public option (I'll happily settle for it).
The final bill is passed by both houses. If there are no Repubican votes for it at all, so what.
Really. I will eat your sox and mine.

1. In a functioning republic, it's a strong possibility. |

But a system that allows the top 1% of Americans in terms of both wealth and income to game the election system isn't anything approaching a representative system at all. It holds more in common with a naked plutocracy or oligarchy than anything else.

Are you OK with plain white gym socks or would you prefer something fancier, like some nice succulent argyles?

5. If you were betting, I'd take that bet against you. |

The House never gets its way in conference. Here's what's going to happen.
House passes a bill - it will by no means be single payer, but it will hopefully have a public option.
Senate passes a bill with shit.
The go to conference (that was the term you meant) - the conference bill has some shit that is not a public option but has these supposed measures in it to increase competition or keep costs "down."

6. Well, that sounds like something the Republicans would do. |
|
But since the Democrats are in charge, it seems that it is so much more important to consider what the Republicans want, rather than what the People voted for in the last election.
Who are the Democrats representing again?

8,000 page "must have" funding bill that opens up Medicare to all and everyone votes for it and signs it not realizing it was in there.
