Charlie Cook predicts big losses for Democrats.(2010)
He has made some of the most accurate predictions historically.

The Democrats have been so vague.

Is Obama really reforming the system including Medicare.
or
Is Obama really trying to cover those who do not have Insurance.

I support Obama and Democrats.

Lack of clarity has made people suspicious. It looks like
they are being secretive about what is in the bill. Trying
to sell a pig in a poke. I am being difficult here. But for
God's Sake, they better get something that is clear. No
Muddling.

The GOP with all their dirty politics are winning.

Politics are important. Politics got us our Constitution,Folks.
Democrats had better learn to play hardball.

Looking weak and easily pushed over wins no votes. Americans
go with the WINNER.

3. If we lose seats it will be because Dems stayed home just like 1994.
1994 could have been not as bad as it was. Dems stayed home and the repukes didn't.

I can't see very many voters turning repuke next year after what we have seen on TV.

7. While I certainly will not vote republican, I am finding it harder to vote at all
I am not at all happy with the Majority we currently have. It is becomming apparent to me that it wouldn't make a hill of beans difference if Republicans gained control. They already seem to have it anyway..Democrats need to shit or get off the pot, or why bother supporting them.

19. I hear you. I am getting the feeling that we are going to continue to be disappointed.
Now that is a real change from my earlier beliefs but this need for bipartisanship when the repuke tell us that they will vote against us is just plain appalling!

We have to stop trying to play nice!

4. Indeed, Sir: Democrats Who Do Not Support President Obama Are In Big Trouble Next Year....
If they want to keep their seats, they will vote with the President.

5. They're echoing what they want to see...
...so that they can get more air time, that's all.
Today's Internet town hall meeting should get some people fired up, and ready for action.
We have to keep these newer volunteers fired up, on key issues, and come election time, and ALL the time for that matter, or we lose, because the Repubs have all the money, but few of the REAL people.

23. This volunteer saw the OFA strategy session and I was really excited until the President,
after saying twice that he strongly supports the public option, made a point of saying that the public option is only a small piece of the legislation and that REFORM is what is most important.

Deflated volunteer.

If the President cannot come up with a decisive and substantive victory on healthcare, he and the Dems are fucked. Big time.

Just my opinion.

10. I just don't see who they're going to lose to
Because the Pukkkes are shrinking like Scalia's dick whenever he sees Sonia Soto Mayor.

They act large, but their demographics are down the drain.

14. This time I think he is wrong, unless ... (cross-posted)
I think there's very little chance that we will lose Congress in 2010. The political climate is really very different now than it was in 1994. In 1994, the Republican Party's approval ratings were not in the toilet. The ghost of Ronald Reagan was much more powerful then. Whereas Clinton followed Bush I, Obama follows one of the least popular politicians in American history, Bush II. Clinton was elected with less than 50% of the popular vote. Obama was elected with well over 50% of the popular vote. The religious right had not completely taken over the Republican Party then. Now, Republican politicians are generally insane, reflecting their rabid base.

I think Obama blew his first chance at health care reform by pushing for a weak plan. I think he should table the idea, for now, and push for single payer in 2011. The current system is unsustainable, and everyone knows it. Change will come. Let's not settle for a bailout of the insurance industry. Let's insist on the eradication of it.

I expect the Democratic Party will pick up 3 seats in the Senate and between 3-6 seats in the House UNLESS Congress passes a disastrous "insurance reform" bill. At this point, I would rather do nothing than to pass any of the bills under consideration in Congress.

20. I wish he had linked it to the stimulus..as a MUST for rehabbing business
Taking a burden off the shoulders of small business could have been a BUG selling feature, and when his rating were sky-high, and the repubs were in the toilet, would have been a great time to push it though...by now we would have been fine-tuning a done-deal, instead of swatting away birthers & deathers

24. We fell in with the RNC plan too neatly. Let's hope a Hail Mary can save us.
RNC Plan -- Woo Hoo! They've ditched the best option before we even started talking! Yee haw! We can keep pushing for more capitulation and get those liberals all riled up too! See if you can get 'em to say stuff about giving up that public option too. Come on. Woo hoo!

Hail Mary to save money, which of course the GOP would want to do:

The public option remains: Medicare for all who want that choice. Buy right in to the existing system.

25. This is the problem
This is why Democrats are too f'ing scared to vote for real health insurance.

They don't want to lose their seats.

Cowards.
