I just noticed something. Maybe I'm late to realize it. (gov't programs vs. charity) |
|
I'm always hearing right-wingers say that we should turn to private charities to deliver goods and services to those in need.
I also hear right-wingers say that the profit motive is the best way to guarantee quality and efficiency, and the lack of a profit motive is why gov't is (in their view) so inefficient and costly.
Yet charities do not operate on a profit motive.
How do they reconcile that contradiction?
Is this just another case of them spouting off with no logic to back up their position?

1. They're saing anything they think that will support their |
|
position. I'm waiting for them to start calling for our police forces to be privatized and/or corporatized.

I've noticed that the churches can't help their congregations because they don't have the money.

4. so instead of being self sufficient and not have to worry about how they are going to pay for |
|
hospital bills and illnesses.... people should have to go beg for help.... wtf!! it's nice that folks want to help people, but imagine if we didn't have to have fundraisers to help little timmy get an operation or cancer treatments or something.... imagine if a family could just deal with getting a loved one better rather than have to figure out how they are going to pay for it.
