Cheney Responds: CIA release serves as reminder of why so many doubt Obama's ability to protect US
From nutjob weekly standard. No need to link -

Cheney Statement on CIA Documents/Investigation

Former Vice President Dick Cheney gave The Weekly Standard a statement Monday night about the CIA documents and the coming Justice Department investigation.

The documents released Monday clearly demonstrate that the individuals subjected to Enhanced Interrogation Techniques provided the bulk of intelligence we gained about al Qaeda. This intelligence saved lives and prevented terrorist attacks. These detainees also, according to the documents, played a role in nearly every capture of al Qaeda members and associates since 2002. The activities of the CIA in carrying out the policies of the Bush Administration were directly responsible for defeating all efforts by al Qaeda to launch further mass casualty attacks against the United States. The people involved deserve our gratitude. They do not deserve to be the targets of political investigations or prosecutions. President Obama’s decision to allow the Justice Department to investigate and possibly prosecute CIA personnel, and his decision to remove authority for interrogation from the CIA to the White House, serves as a reminder, if any were needed, of why so many Americans have doubts about this Administration’s ability to be responsible for our nation’s security.

Cheney should shut his fucking gob up. He has no goddamn business interjecting such an outlandish, fear mongering opinion. And why exactly is Obama protecting this fucker? A despicable, evil lump of crap of a fucker who is at present undermining your administration from the sidelines. Why, Mr. President, do you let him run his mouth? Prosecute! and do it now.

16. I dunno, I'm sort of in favor of it
it makes him look old, feeble, impotent, bitter and at the same time it takes some sting out of the charge "to weak to defend."

He projects this absurd image of himself as the
protective grandfather.

Like the American people were a bunch of helpless
thumb sucking children.

10. Didn't the attorney general Eric Holder hire a special prosecutor.....
to look into this case? I am hoping their asses will be thrown in jail. I hate Cheney with a fiery passion much more so than Bush.

At least Bush is keeping his MOUTH SHUT. Cheney keeps taunting Obama. Demonic old bastard.

It's so sad we lose good people like Michael Jackson, Peter Jennings, etc to early death yet demons like Cheney and Limbaugh still breathe....................

11. Hey Dick, what would you confess to if those 'techniques' were used on you?
Are we a nation of laws, or a nation of men?

Go fuck yourself, Dick.

14. It's a standard GOP tactic
Attack on areas where you are weak. Same thing Rove did with his WSJ Op ed the other day on the DOJ firings.

Cheney is obviously feeling the heat on this so naturally he needs to come out attacking.

17. So let me get this straight.
We prosecute illegal torture...and the terrorists will attack us to prove Dick Cheney right? Should this happen (God forbid), will we get a communication from AQ that says "we attacked you again for not torturing detainees and for not protecting Dick Cheney and George Bush for their war crimes"?

If we do, I guess Dick Cheney can explain why AQ and the Republican Party seem to be of one mind on this matter.

18. It was just a few weeks ago that Cheney asked the White House to release some memos..
that would prove torture worked. Well, they are finally releasing them. It must be really hard to sleep at night with all those demons darting around inside your head...
