When drops in polling are cited
Edited on Tue Aug-25-09 08:10 AM by SHRED
Polling for the public sentiment regarding Obama's policies are heading downward it seems.

Curiously missing is an intelligent debate as to the reasons why.
Is it because they are not going far enough towards meaningful reform that has teeth?

Here's how I see the media framing this, which is opposite of "not going far enough":

"Is Obama too far left? A Socialist?"

And then they cite poll numbers.
This gives the impression that he is moving too far left (laughable I know).

Anyone else see this frame?

1. It has surely been obvious to me ......
..... but nobody wants to believe a clown. Mention it and you get branded a troll by the Army of True Believers.

2. The frame has gold leaf & flashing lights, and its the olny one they use.
Even though it clashes with the picture.

3. Yes - I think the dissatisfaction is split
Between people who are afraid of reform (the teabaggers) and those who want more meaningful reform.

Also, when you look at more detailed polls, you see a majority still support the bill's contents even while they say they don't support the reform. In other words, they are against the strawman lies more than the actual bill. I'd say a big part of that is the right's misinformation campaign is working on some level.

4. very good point - the polling is showing that people want Obama
to be more aggressive in pushing his policies.

the media is trying to spin the opposite. of course, we saw all this media lying and propaganda during the election and saw that President Obama was effective in dealing with it.

5. Polls Also Show Republican Approval Numbers Are Down
For some reason, nobody wants to talk about it.
