CIA Reveal is a Bone Thrown to Liberals so we don't get pissed about losing the Public Option |
|
Notice we're not talking about health care reform anymore. Obama's group was getting flak from the "left of the left" regarding the neutering of the health reform package, so what happens? We get a slight flip on the CIA issue in the favor of liberals to keep us happy while they continue on their merry way in giving the Insurance and Drug Industries even more money (i.e., co-op bullsh*t).
This CIA reveal is nothing more than a slight of the hand trick to get discussion off of the health care package and to keep the liberal base happy when Obama caves to financial interests over the citizenry.

1. And what you be calling it if they DIDN'T have the "CIA Reveal"??? |
|
You've literally made it so there is absolutely NO course of action the administration could take regarding the "CIA Reveal" in which you wouldn't criticize them.
Pretty convenient for the Obama bashers. Literally... any course taken can be criticized.
It's called damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't..... and it reflects worse on you than it does on Obama.

3. I came at it from the opposite direction: I see it as a distraction for the righties to take |

their attention off of health care reform. When I first heard about it, I thought: "Another chess move from the master! The repukes will circle the wagons and try to keep the torturers out of prison. Opposition to health care reform will have to take a back seat."
Or look at it another way. It's a bargaining chip. Maybe President Obama will tell Congressional repukes: "Drop your opposition to health insurance reform, and these investigations will go away."
We'll see...

6. The flip on the CIA release is too convenient for this not to be a "chess move." n/t |

5. Relax, pal. Healthcare will pass with a public option. And CIA torture is being investigated. |

I was pleased to hear Jane Mayer last night say that Durham can take this all the way up the chain. And Col. Lawrence Wilkerson thinks that "people could be talking" and direct links may be established to Cheney and Addington.
And, according to Sen. Whitehouse, Durham is a serious prosecutor. If Sheldon Whitehouse likes him, I'm extremely satisfied with the situation.
Maybe the Republicans will have something else to motivate them now instead of insurance lobbyists. They have new, more important stuff to lie about now. Like trying to keep Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Ashcroft out of The Hague.
