New federal budget deficit numbers are going to hurt health care reform
It's going to feed the idea that government should not create new programs. Obama is going to have to counter this with an effective, detailed proposal that shows how much we can save by enacting reform.

1. Shut down "George's Excellent Adventure" now...

No sense throwing good money after bad.

I don't want to hear any crap from GOPers about "not creating new programs" after the bogus Iraq war, TARP, and doing a "what tax-cheats" expression with eyes blinking when the subject of UBS comes up...

3. So the argument should be "You increased the deficit, now its our turn to do the same"?
I think that long-term deficit reduction should be a key goal. Do you?

4. Yeah, that's why we don't flush $3 trillion down the Iraqi toilet for lies...
And throw hundreds of billions of dollars at Con Street and the Banksters. And ignore 10,000s of American tax cheats with offshore accounts. What is it about these wastes of taxpayer money do you not understand?

Don't give me the GOP mantra of "we can't afford it." We can--even with the economic malfeasance demonstrated by GOPers.

Stop the war--that'll save $720 million a day. Go after tax cheats--that'll add plenty to US coffers. Can't do anything about Con Street and the Banksters...for now, but we could redo the tax tables so the biggest corporations will pay their fare share.

But public-option healthcare will save the country money. Even in a country with 54% believing Medicare isn't a government-run health-care program.

5. Don't confuse what other people are saying with what I'm saying.
But before we start playing the blame game, we should come up with our own positive message on how we can save the country money.

6. I thought I just did...
Stop the war (save $720 million a day)
Regulate Con Street and the Banksters (make them pay their fare share)
Pass public option (save $$$)

These are only three things we can do, but it would save us oodles of $$$...

7. Right. And I agree with you
But doing the whole "The GOP started a war, TARP, etc., so they're hypocrites" isn't going to fly.

2. New deficit numbers should cause voters to make congress prove HRC will not increase the deficit. nt
