I wrote to Senator Ted's office once: EVERYbody writes to Senator KENNEDY (when there is NO hope)

because I live in an a-hole Rethug state with two Rethug senators and there was NO use writing to THEM.


AND, the rules of our government are that you/constituent needs to deal with YOUR OWN "representatives."


It must have been by phone because the staffer's words RING in my ears to this day:



"EVERYbody writes to Senator KENNEDY."

What shoulders the man had. He carried so much of our pain when we were tired.

2. He had a heart. Most of the Kennedys do.

These people have made public service a bedrock of their lives. They do our country proud, although I am not too enamoured of JFK.

How is it possible that he is gone? Oh dear, tears again.
