OFA organizers and volunteers are dedicating a lot of time and effort gathering signatures on the Health Care Declaration (below and at link).
Apparently, they plan to deliver signatures to various state representatives in an effort to show how many of their constituents are supportive of Obama's health care reform efforts, and to sway their votes.
Have you seen this, and how effective do you think this effort is?
In my state, I doubt seriously that my Repug Congressman, Dean Heller, or the Repug Senator Ensign will think twice before voting "Hell no!" on any Health Care/Insurance Reform Bill that Dems offer up, regardless of how many of their constituents' signatures are put under their noses.
Thoughts?
The PRINCIPLES
President Obama has announced three bedrock requirements for real health care reform:
Now we have to show Congress where the American people stand. Stand with the President.
I support President Obama's three principles for real health care reform, and I call on
Congress to enact a plan upholding them in 2009
REDUCE COSTS — Rising health care costs are crushing the budgets of governments,
businesses, individuals, and families, and they must be brought under control
GUARANTEE CHOICE — Every American must have the freedom to choose their plan
and doctor – including the choice of a public insurance option
ENSURE AFFORDABLE CARE FOR ALL —All Americans must have quality and
affordable health care
Now we have to show Congress where the American people stand. Stand with the President.
