Next: Stop O'Reilly, Beck and Limbaugh |
|
Now that Imus has been fired, we must call for the dismissal of other outrageous TV/Radio talking heads. Everyone of them that have used smear, and slander to push their point of view on the American viewers and listeners need to be taken down.

6. start with their sponsors |
|
sponsors provide revenue, revenue fuels air time. Bring them down through the capitalist system they so highly tout.

4. I despise Limbaugh, Beck and O'Reilly |
|
however; we must be careful and vigilant not to violate Freedom of Speech.
We need to focus on the link between the WH Propaganda arm and their link to these clowns. Once that link is severed these guys don't have their talking points anymore, no talking points and the power of the message is diminished.....
The firing of Imus has set the bar....Limbaugh, Beck and O'Reilly want to cross that line...we know now the impact of advertisers don't we?
Lesson Learned...

10. I hate O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Savage, Beck |
|
but, like Madmaddie said "however; we must be careful and vigilant not to violate Freedom of Speech"...
I will never watch O'Reilly, nor will listen to the others....The best thing to do is ignore the aforementioned bastards, don't ever give them ratings...

7. Not gonna happen....see, now you're being partisan? |
|
That's what they will say, anyway.
See, the problem for Imus is that he was not identified with a party or cause, so he didn't have any supporters to rely on, but possibly more importantly, he didn't have a victimization to point to. He couldn't say people were being partisan, hateful, anti-gay, black or whatever. He couldn't play the victim.
Now, you go after Hannity, O'Really & Limbballs and you are going to be accused of being partisan, and the issue stops there.
Even though they are all more deserving of a kick to the curb than Imus, they will go nowhere, and I dare say we would do them an enormous favor by attempting to silence them instead of simply ignoring them and letting Bush show the sheer ignorance of their ideals put into action.

My problem with Limbaugh, O'Reilly, & Coulter isn't really about them being Republicans. It's the way they choose to express themselves. You cannot have rational debate with these people. I remember when the Right started behaving like they do now. Left-wingers would try to debate them & would be eaten alive. We had to get just as nasty as them just to get heard. But has this really made anything better? I think the blue state/red state divide happened because of this. No one can debate anyone anymore without the personal insults. But it's up to the Right to stop this, since they started the whole thing. I really think that people on our side would rather have rational, mature debate instead of all this "bullies in the schoolyard" crap. But do the Republicans want things to change? I just don't know at this point.

"They" may want to get rid of Colbert, Stewart and KO for being "unAmerican".
