Did Al Gore turn his back to George W. Bush at Ted Kennedy’s funeral? |
|
Watch this video and note what Gore does as Bush enters his line of sight. Around ten seconds into the clip (as MSNBC goes to a split screen), Gore does a complete about-face as Bush approaches… http://www.considerthisnews.com/index.php/site/thefeed/did_al_gore_turn_his_back_to_george_w._bush_at_ted_kennedys_funeral/

6. Gore is much too classy to do something that rude. |
|
Edited on Sat Aug-29-09 10:02 AM by The Velveteen Ocelot
The camera makes everyone look closer together than they really are, and the appearances are sometimes deceptive.
Come on, it's a state funeral. As much as Bush is a dirtbag, Gore is a class act and would not intentionally snub anybody, even Bush, at an occasion like this -- where people are supposed to above petty shit.

4900? of our own service members, (i lost count, one is too many to die for this piece of shit), the maiming of how many civilians and service people, then there is the robbery of our treasury to pay helofaburden and blackwater et al, our civil rights, the invasion of my home and accusing me of being a terrorist because I spoke out about the ballot shredding in Fort Lauderdale the night of the 2,000 sElection..none of that is petty.

If you turn away before the other person sees you, especially before they catch your eye, then you can simply avoid the situation altogether without guilt or blame.

I don't think Gore intentionally snubbed Bush, not do I think he would do so at an occasion like this. Ted Kennedy wasn't that kind of guy and Gore wouldn't dishonor his memory by being snitty at his funeral.

after what that bastard did to this country, you consider simply turning ones back to bush petty? shit, what Al did was the polite thing to do, a lesser man like myself would not have let the opportunity pass, and would have been in his face telling him what a piece of shit he is. Gore was considerate of bush's sensitive little feelings by avoiding the confrontation instead of refusing to shake bush's hand right to his face, which would have caused quite a stir. whatever Al has do do to maintain composure in the company of that foul excuse for a man is fine with me.

Better that then grabbing the man who stole the Presidency from him on national T.V.. Seeing both John Kerry & Al Gore I kept thinking about what might have been .... no 9/11, no wars, no torture, the money would have been spent on the levies around New Orleans, no Seigelman in prison, no spying ......
So what he turned his back on that little man .... good on him.

|
Did you see the sourpuss face on W when Obama greeted him? Does that mean that Bush is a petulant little twerp or that he has severe indigestion because he doesn't want to appear in public? Who knows? I didn't watch the referenced video with Gore. I remember there was some gasbag discussion about Carter being shunned by the other presidents in the Oval Office as "evidenced" by a news photograph. In a later interview, Carter said it was silly hogwash.
And who can forget the video that purportedly showed Obama turning his back on Hillary - both he and Hillary said that they had already greeted each other cordially.
The lesson - video is not reality unless you know the whole context.

|
paused a moment, wiped (perhaps) a tear from his eye, turned his head slightly to his left to see if the B*sh was still there, then turned his head back to maintain his facing away.
I think Gore had to do this, in order to not blurt "Why are you here, you lame f**ker? Senator Kennedy was an honorable man who stood against everything you are and everything you represent. Go back to your air-conditioned Dallas hovel and count the war-dead." Well, I think he might have more to say, and say it more eloquently.

I'm surprised I'm not hearing more about the attempt Hillary Clinton made to give a kiss to President Obama and he backed away.
Anywho, the manchild looked like a kid who was being taken out to a party with adults and wasn't sure how to act or react. It had to be wierd. Here he was in a Catholic church (what's this potato chip thing they're handing out?) in the middle of the inner city (why aren't them colored folk dancing like they do in the videos?) in Boston...one of the most liberal cities in the country. He was in the belly of the beast and it showed. Those who were there placated him. He really looks both lost and as self aborbed as ever.
