Edward Moore Kennedy III
He looks like his grandfather and sounds like his grandfather and already has his grandfather's strong liberal lineage. A friend told me that a reporter apparently interviewed this wonderful 11 year old child on Friday and at the end, young Mr. Kennedy told the reporter that he would need a copy of that interview for his own political campaign in 20 years. Godspeed, young man. I hope I'm still around to see this...

"That everyone have universal health care as a right, not a privilege! Lord hear our prayer."

3. He was one of the grandchildren that put his arms across the casket
and cried his eyes out in Arlington. There were three of them huddled over the casket. I'm crying all over again remembering that final goodbye scene.

5. Thanks for this
I could not see anything as the graveside service progressed. Wonder who the little fellow is who is draped over the other side of the casket.

12. I think the hardest part is when you leave the cemetary
and you feel like you're leaving your loved one behind. That's when it really sinks in.

9. Quotes from grandsons Max Allen and Teddy III
From an article on Bloomberg.com by James Rowley and William McQuillen:

Ten of Kennedy’s grandchildren, nieces and nephews led the congregation in prayers, paraphrasing some of the late senator’s most familiar lines. These included Kennedy’s plea for universal health-care legislation, now pending in Congress.

‘Cause of His Life’

“For what my grandpa called the cause of his life, as he said that every American have decent quality health care as a fundamental right and not a privilege, we pray to the Lord,” said Max Allen, one of Kennedy’s grandsons. “The work begins anew, the hope rises again and the dream lives on,” said another grandson, Teddy Kennedy.

11. His interview was adorable...
He talked about how moved he was when he saw people's reactions to his grandfather. He's at that age when he starts seeing the world as bigger than his own circle, although he's certainly had more exposure than most kids his age. Even so, the outpouring of love for his grandfather will leave a mark on him. I don't think we've heard the last of him!
